Will I require a normal implant or is there an alternative?

June 12th, 2012
Q.

Dear Mr Rosenbaum,
I am due to have a few of my teeth removed this week. I am then told I will have to wait a short while before replacing them. to give you the idea of the situation. there are two teeth together and a tooth on its own in a different location to be removed. I have heard about mini implants and plate (…?) implants. I was wondering if you could tell me whether these would be better than the normal implants or whether they’re only used in specific circumstances or anything? I would like to receive the best one’s possible. thanks

If I have teeth extracted how long will I wait until I get dentures?

May 24th, 2012
Q.

Good afternoon. I have been considering for a while now having dentures fitted as I have many teeth missing and i think the ones i have left are not long for this world as they are in a state of disrepair. I’m just worried though as the teeth I have remaining are the majority of my front ones they still don’t look that bad so long as my mouth is not fully open. though this is not something I am proud of it is something that i have gotten used to over the last few years. The issue comes when you consider that these may have to go. if you have them extracted how long will it be on average, considering your own personal case studies until I have a full set of dentures that will fit me?

May 21st, 2012
Q.

Hello. Can you please tell me about dentures,. I have to have my teeth replaced and I thought it would better to have the dental implants as they will not fall out? I am not sure though? I have heard a lot of people saying how their dentures have fallen out or how they give them problems when eating and stuff? please could you give me your thoughts and opinions on the best way to be replacing teeth? cheers

I have an implant but my teeth have begun to crowd and look awful?

May 18th, 2012
Q.

Dear Nick. I appreciate that your busy and thanks in advance for taking the time out to read this. I had an implant when I was young after a car crash. my teeth were actually plucked from my mouth as they were stuck in the steering wheel. it wasn’t as funny then as it is now! my dentist said that the way they had come out had caused some form of trauma in the surrounding area and this made implanting slightly harder. I have had new crowns since then to keep up a natural look but I am now having problem with the fit. my surrounding teeth have moved and have been pushed out around the implant as this has not moved at all. my dentist is now uhming and ahhing as to what can be done. can you think of a type of implant that might be a problem to replace or is any kind of implant hard to replace? thanks

Is there a difference between All on four and normal dental implants other than the amount?

May 18th, 2012
Q.

Dear Jamie, I have had dentures now for seven years and have never had a pair that has been well retained. I have considered having dental implants to secure them but thought it best to try a few other methods first. I have had pads and all the fixatives you can think of. now however I think that implants are the way forwards. I then heard of the all on four implant procedure and have thought a little bit about that, is there an obvious difference between having implants and having the all on four treatment aside from the fact that there is four implants? cheers

What teeth are used on All-On-four treatment?

May 18th, 2012
Q.

I need to have help with my teeth . I will go the dentist and have them looked at but I think I need a lot of them removing and will most likely need dentures. I have been reading a lot of the answers on here and noticed that someone said that when you ahve all on four treatments they do not use dentures but false teeth? I then have two questions for you. the first being this. how many is the most teeth you have pulled before giving the patient dentures as I do have a good few left? and the second being this. what teeth/dentures are put on the all on four implants ?? thanks for this

Would I be able to alter how my teeth used to look with implants?

May 17th, 2012
Q.

Hi Mr Fahey. I had braces a few years back as my teeth were overlapped. when they were straightened they revealed triangular gaps between the two front teeth near the gumline. which looked awful.Anyway I have broken my left front tooth (right if your looking at it). I am going to need an implant to replace this after it’s extracted but I don’t want that gap there? is there anything that can be done with regards to putting the implant in. I fear it may be the carature of the other tooths side that will be the problem?
thanks

My dentist seems to think having the All on four treatment isn’t a good idea?

May 17th, 2012
Q.

hello there Nigel
I am looking at having the all on four treatment for the dentures but my dentist said that It wasn’t a great Idea as my mouth was not the best shape to support the implants? He did mention a few technical things I guess would help you but he saw I didn’t have a clue so he concluded just that in the end. Despite this he has said that I will still be able to have dentures and implants? What do you make of this situation is it right and Am I likely to have more implants or less ? thank you

Will implants be effective if I don’t have a lot of jaw bone?

May 17th, 2012
Q.

Hi,
I have a history of awkwardness when it comes to surgery or anything like this. I have never had a straight forward procedure in my life. always receiving comments like “ahh this is slightly out of place so we’ll have to do this first/instead or around”- whatever! does my head in and I figure how awkward can dentures be? apparently very as my jaw bone was somehow not suitable now I’m sue* to have implants and a good few of them. Can dentures on implants be effective for the long term if there is only just sufficient jaw bone available? or is it likely i’ll have problem down the road?

My dentures aren’t great, can you tell me all about getting implants for them?

May 16th, 2012
Q.

hi, Im 60 and have worn dentures now for many years, approximately 30. the pair I have now I have had for around one year and they don’t fit very well, I have done a bit off online research and asked about and I have heard that basically the answer lies within dental implants and having them secured in place. would you firstly concur with this that it is a good method or is it only used in certain/more extreme cases? I need to know everything about this procedure and don’t expect you to provide me with all the details right now. but for now could you tell me whether it is possible to apply dental implants to any set of dentures or will i have to go through having even more made (would this be recommended practice or not) and how much can this process cost?
