A year ago I had a successful liver transplant. Am I eligible for teeth implants or is the risk of infection too high?
I had some dental work done around 4/5 years ago but now have a few rotted teeth that I feel need replacing however my dentist told me the best he can do now is give me dentures. Help!

Should I get a immediate implant or not?

August 30th, 2011
Q.

I have a TOP FRONT tooth that was broken off at the gum line 45 years ago. A post was put in at the time and a tooth hung on it. The root is now showing signs of trouble and it seems to be cracked. An oral surgeon and a general dentist recommend extraction and an implant. The dentist wants to do an immediate implant with a temporary tooth put on in the same visit. The surgeon recommends against immediate, claiming they are too risky and could result in bone loss. He suggests a normal implant with a temporary tooth attached to the adjoining teeth. What do you think? Remember, this is a front tooth.

Did my missing teeth cause the others to go crooked?

August 30th, 2011
Q.

My teeth use to be straight, however now the bottom front teeth have become crooked and have gaps either side which you can see when i smile. My dentist says this is caused by missing teeth, gum loss and gum disease. Iam in pain with my mouth and fine it hard to eat so should I get my teeth removed and replaced by implants? would it be possible due to my bone loss? would I need a bone graft? Iam 49 years old thanks for your time

How much would it cost for my son’s implants?

August 30th, 2011
Q.

My son has 3 missing teeth when he was 13( 2dead and 1 lost), he got told that when he turned 18 that he could have implants because then his jaw would be fully grown, however they said that as his jaw was damaged in the accident then he may need a bone transplant. He’s 18 in the next two months and we’ve started to look into it again, could you tell me the average cost and whether any cosmetic dentist could do this or would we need to go to the hospital? thanks a lot for your time

I feel like my life is over now I have dentures, help?

August 24th, 2011
Q.

Please help iam 56years old but feel like 96. I had been told for 3 years now my only hope for my top teeth, which were damaged after serious health was dentures. Apprantly I have too much bone loss for implants.. Had it done a month ago, Teeth removal when asleep, good fast recovery from that and left with dentures in place. With dentures i feel like my life is over, I cannot not talk with them in or out, my mouth aches. I sell insurance for a living and had had to quit working. I cannot leave my house except to go to the dentist, who has been very nice and says it takes time to adjust but I will never adjust to this. I look 10 years older , can’t even put lipstick on and have had to cut off all communication with the outside world. Please help me

Is there an alternative to dentures for me?

August 24th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I am 46yrs and have worn the same set of dentures for 12yrs which were put in straight after my orignal teeth were removed. I have never returned to a dentist due to a mixture of fear and embarrassment, but over the past 7months my lower gums have become very painful and have shrunk to the point hat they’ve almost disappeared, and the roof of my mouth feels raw due to them constantly rubbing . I have also lost a 2stone in weight as it is too painful to eat. My facial features have also changed due to these dentures, which has made me paranoid about how i look. Is there an alternative to dentures available on the nhs? I would rather carry on with this pain rather than have new dentures….Please Help Me

Should i get implants fitted after my baby teeth are removed?

August 24th, 2011
Q.

Hello there. I am nineteen years old and still have two baby teeth intact that are due to come out, however there isn’t any adult teeth behind them according to my dentist. meaning that i’d be left toothless when they come out and they would be visible gaps if i smile or even spoke. social nightmare for me that i would abslotely hate. Would it be possible to get implants fitted when they do fall out? or is the bone too weak after having years of baby teeth and no adult teeth there?
