I had my lower dentures secured with all on 4. Can this now be done on my upper jaw?

May 14th, 2012
Q.

Nigel. I have had my lower denture put on implants in the all on four treatment. It’s pretty amazing as to the results. I hate these people who put horror stories across the web that frighten people off. the treatment I had was absolutely amazing and I thank people like yourself for perfecting this. I was wondering though if it would be possible to have this same treatment on the upper jaw? my dentist said it was rarely used but does that mean you can’t have it or that there is a better option? I currently have a partial denture on top and don’t need to change yet I’m just finding out these things beforehand. thank you

Can restorative work be carried out on an old existing implant?

May 11th, 2012
Q.

Hello Mr Rosenbaum. I have had advice from yourself possibly off here before I remembered you but not the site so I don’t know? anyway My sister visited you not long back as she lives just bath Matlock bath, I live a little further away but with our two experiences combined I figured it’d be worth coming down to see you when I can get a day off. I need restorative work on an implant I had done years ago if that’s possible? I had It done at the time at an NHS dentist that then went private and then shut. we received notice that our records would be transferred to another dentist not so far away, but it’s really poor I don’t like it there at all. basically this implant was put in a good few years ago and is now causing me a bit of discomfort everything around it feels tight (I have always brushed etc so should be healthy). Is it possible for problems like this to arise and what can be done if I can get down? cheers

I have bridges that have protruded as my teeth have moved, what should I do?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

i was missing my ‘I’ teeth, and had my baby ones extracted. I also have a severe over bite and had treatment for this with a brace. The dentists tried to create a gap big enough to fit bridges in, and move my front teeth off centre to do so. The bridges were inserted, but over time, these are now protruding as my teeth have moved. My dentist will not do any work as they say it is cosmetic. They are so embararssing and people stare. It has affected me a lot. What can I do?

How do I work around my dental implants for dentures?

April 20th, 2012
Q.

I have a bit of an issue when needing dentures. It may be- and I hope it is, straight forwards. for the last five years I have had two single tooth implants on my upper jaw. one is my second from back molar on the right and the other is third from back (left, top). however theyre pretty much the only teeth I have left and the surrounding teeth are due to be removed shortly. would you suggest mayb having a partial to surround the implants or would you sy having them removed (if possible) would be a better idea? the thing is i have had a brainwave and I might be as I usually am, way off the mark but I was wondering if the implants used to hold the crowns could be used to hold the dentures? they are pretty much opposite each other on the jaw and are already in place, if this was possible it would save me a lot of money having to have a new set of implants inserted to retain the dentures? what are your thoughts? thank you

I’ve lost bone in my jaw. Would I be suitable for dental implants or would I need mini-implants?

April 13th, 2012
Q.

Hello, I am looking into getting implants, for two missing teeth at the front of my mouth, which i currently wear a bridge to hide. The bridge is quite old now and I think its on its last legs so i was just wondering about dental implant options. I have been told that i have a low level of bone in my jaw and i guess this would be a major factor when it comes to placing implants. Could you tell me the difference between implants and mini implants and which would be best for me? and also if there is anything i would need to do about my jaw. thanks and hope to hear from you soon

What are your thoughts on dental implants versus suction techniques?

March 29th, 2012
Q.

Hi Mr Rosenbaum,
I need to ask a question about dental implants. I have been on the internet and have spoken briefly with my dentist who loved the idea of dental implants. I myself need some reassurance as to the comfort of this system. I have heard about a suction thing that you have have placed on your dentures that will suck them down when you bite, do you know of this method and what would you say to it when comparing it to the implant option. thank you

I am considering dental implants but what’s the difference between implants and the all-on-four treatment?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Hi Mr Rosenbaum, I have had full dentures now for the best part of the last ten years. I never really had problems with them until the last pair I had made (which is my current pair). I am told this is due to the wear on my gums or/and bone underneath. I am now thinking therefore of having dental implants. my local denture guy at the dentist suggested just relining them but I assume this would only be temporary measure until the gums wore further? I looked at the all on four treatment breifly and cannot distinguish why this is different to simply having dentures on implants, be it two, three or four?

I have had three bridges in the same place after the first two broke. This can’t be right?

March 2nd, 2012
Q.

Hello, I need advice about my bridge. I have had three now in the same place. Its a two crown on one implant. The first two I had both broke! The first time the actual crown snapped and the second it cracked. So I assumed the crowns were just made of really poor material. I have had a third made and fitted , and though its not broke its a really uncomfortable fit, it feels both thick and sharp in areas. I dont know what to do, where do i stand with getting a refund or restorative work. if i have restorative work what exactly should be done to rectify the situation? any advice is welcome thanks a lot.

I have a few wobbly teeth which might need removing. Could you advise my next move please?

February 17th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I have suffered from gum disease due to smoking and my gums have receded dramatically resulting in a very large gap between my front teeth. I have inquired about veneers and my dentist initially sad it should be fine. At my last appointment he when I asked about starting the procedure he said in around 2 months he would take an xray to check if the bone was suitable. I have noticed that my leftside front tooth is very wobbly and this is causing me great distress but doesn’t appear to concern my dentist at all! I’m 31 yrs old and a false tooth on a palate is not an option for me, would veneers be the right option or is a crown possible? when I asked about a bridge for another tooth my dentist refused. I’m really quite concerned that I’ll loose my tooth and want to pre-emt a toothless smile! what are my options? Thanks in advance for any advice
