Would I be able to get dental implants to retain my current dentures?

May 14th, 2012
Q.

I was wondering whether you coul help me with an implant issue that i am having. I have two implants on my lower jaw and have had them for some time I also have partial dentures in and around the sites of these implants as i only have three teeth left on the lower jaw that are still natural, however their health has deteriorated dramatically and they will probably have to be removed. I have been looking at what options i have and I came across dental implants for dentures. Would it be possible to use the implant sites of my current implants to retain dentures with? that would be ideal, they are located pretty much opposite each other on the lower jaw two and three teeth from the back on the left and right respectively. what do you think?Any advice that you have would be greatly appreciated.

I am constantly in the face of the public, could dentures cause a problem for me?

April 24th, 2012
Q.

HI as the owner of a local corner shop I am constantly being in the face of the public. I have had work to my teeth done previously on the NHS but I am not sure if I can dentures on it. problem is I have only got 6 bottom teeth remaining and 9 on top and some of these are being rotten and want to be gone. I was wondering whether dentures are available on the NHS or would I have to be going private? will the teeth stop me eating certain foods my own curry has beef and is chewy I do not want to be loosing my teeth in it? which arises another issue- the sauces in curry stain plates yellow- I cannot be having bright yellow teeth will this happen or are they like real teeth?

What are the requirements to be illegible for Swiss dentures?

April 11th, 2012
Q.

Hi there Mr butler, I have been having thoughts about dentures. I need to do something to replace my teeth and have looked at both dentures and implants. Ideally I gues it would be best to have a full mouth of individual implants for the most realistic look but I’m told that A) this will cause too much damage and that B) it’ll be it will be to expensive. I therefore am looking at dentures but am a little confused . I have heard wonderful things about Swiss dentures but have been told again that I might not require them, what are the requirements for being a suitable candidate for swiss dentures/what are they and how are they different to normal dentures? thanks a lot

I’m not sure about dental implants. What are the alternatives when retaining dentures?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

Good day Mr Butler. I am torn between having dentures and whether I hould have them implanted or not. I Have a few remaining teeth now but only a few and to be honest of them theres probably one on each arch that is healthy so there’s no point. I am disgraced I let it get this far but hey, here we are. If I have dentures I want them to be secure and I don’t want to have all the retention problems i’m continually reading about. what are your thoughts on dentures on implants? are there other methods of keeping dentures secure?

I want dentures that retain themselves better without getting dental implants?

March 20th, 2012
Q.

Hi, Mr butler. I am looking to get dentures that actually retain themselves properly without having implants. I have now worn dentures for about twelve years and am due to have a new pair any time now. before I do though I want to know what my options are. I have seen an advert for Swiss dentures it was a poster that just said they offer better retention. could Swiss dentures be the answer or is there any other type of denture that I could look at getting for better retention? thanks

Getting dentures on the NHS as opposed to privately: what are the pro’s and cons?

March 2nd, 2012
Q.

hello I was wondering If you could advise me on dentures, I am only twenty one and am no where near having dentures yet and I hopefully dont ever plan on doing. However I am preparing for a potential eventuality as there is so much chemicals and sugar in our foods today its almost impossible to avoid. I have been trying to prepare for these things and wondered what treatment was available privately that may not be available on the NHS when it comes to dentures? will dentures be better privately or exactly the same? what are the pros and cons of going private for dentures? cheers Mr Butler

My dentures have been causing a serious aching sensation on the left hand side of my mouth. What can I do?

February 9th, 2012
Q.

Hi Mr Butler, This is not an ideal situation but I find myself on the road and as a result don’t know where a dentist is nearby. I am a lorry driver and spend some time away from home. I am currently stationed in west Sussex but live up north. I will visit my dentist when I get back if I cannot conclude the problem/if its serious. my dentures have been causing a serious aching sensation on the left hand side of my mouth which is enhanced every time I eat. This has resulted in me eating mushier foods, sandwiches with sandwich fillers in, saucy type things instead of bacons/hams etc. and as you imagine that’s just the start its really beginning to grind now. What would you say is the cause of this problem based on your knowledge and experience? thanks

I have to replace a lot of teeth but I liked my smile, can I replace it with dentures?

January 27th, 2012
Q.

Hello Lee. I have very specific problem. I like this as I will remain anonymous. I have really good looking teeth and always have done, people have always mentioned how nice they are, however that doesnt tell the whole story, I had a good dose of gum disease and upon a second visit to a second dentist i have concluded a lot of these teeth will have to be replaced as there is a lot of damage to the roots and surrounding bone. as I said this istwo dentists individual opinions so i assume now that its as correct as it can be. what i want to know however is whether ill be able to have dentures that look like the teeth they have replaced be it half dentures or full dentures (we’re not yet sure if they all have to come or just a handful). I dontwant to lose what i consider to be a nice smile, one of the features of myself that i am proud of as ill be heartbroken.
any advise will be good and a third opinion isnt too much. cheers
