What teeth are used on All – On – four treatment?

May 16th, 2012
Q.

I need to have help with my teeth . I will go the dentist and have them looked at but I think I need a lot of them removing and will most likely need dentures. I have been reading a lot of the answers on here and noticed that someone said that when you ahve all on four treatments they do not use dentures but false teeth? I then have two questions for you. the first being this. how many is the most teeth you have pulled before giving the patient dentures as I do have a good few left? and the second being this. what teeth/dentures are put on the all on four implants ?? thanks for this

I have now moved down south but would still like dentures. Can this happen?

May 14th, 2012
Q.

Dear expert. I had an appointment with a denture person at my old dentist who was keen for me to have dentures as soon as was possible at that time due to the condition of my teeth then. a change in circumstances meant I had to move down south immediately to be with my family. this has obviously left my own health care in a bit of a mess as it looks like I’ll be living down here for a long time yet. I need to get my teeth sorted out and have to start soon. Now I have established that I need and can have dentures is there anything else I need to know or can I just get going on having them? thanks for your help

Would I be able to find a new dentist to help with my painful dentures?

May 14th, 2012
Q.

Hello I have just moved house and region completely I used to live down near Sussex but I now live in Sheffield.and as such I have left behind all kinds of things good and bad including my dentist. I was not on the NHS I was private. If I was on the NHS would it be possible for me to just walk into another clinic? anyway I wear partial dentures and I have got a really painful ache in one of my rear teeth on the bottom left (one of a few teeth that remain, which for a long time was used for the clasp to hold onto- I had a flexi denture fitted about nine months ago though do It hasnt been clasped). If I came to you citing this problem what would be your initial thoughts and what would you be looking for? I need to take as much informations as i can to a new dentist.

I don’t think my implant was put in right, should I complain?

May 1st, 2012
Q.

had a dental implant inserted into my upper jaw to replace a canine last week. During the procedure the implant cracked my bone and burst through my gum so that I have had to have extra stitches. The dentist has now said I may need a bone graft. Does this happen often or have I got grounds to make a complaint?

Do I have to have root canal treatment in order to have an implant?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

Please take time to go over my problem. six weeks ago about i was given advice by my dentist to have one of my front teeth crowned.I agreed and then five weeks later the crown fell out.I went back to my dentist who has temporaliy glued the crown back in and now says i will have to have a post fitted. Looking at various websites out there available I can only find information on root canal post. Can you only have a post if you have had root canal treatment. The remaining part of the tooth which is left is fine and i’m in no discomfort. Thanks for your time

Can you tell me what I can do about a poor dental implant and crown?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

Hello Dr craig. I had to have two teeth replaced a while back and did so with a dental implant. for cost reasons the dentist recommend i had two crowns on one implant. Considering I wasn’t a massive fan then I am indeed less of a fan now. one of the teeth that sits directly on top of the implant is fine but the one that is ‘stuck’ off the side is not. it feels like it rubs on the neighbouring real tooth and underlying gum. I know this is hard to describe, how he did it, but consider a space of two teeth, one normal implant with a crown on replacing one tooth but then having a ‘floating’ crown stuck to the other crown to fill the gap. what should have been done and what can be done to rectify this considering all my other teeth are there and healthy? thanks

I have bridges that have protruded as my teeth have moved, what should I do?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

i was missing my ‘I’ teeth, and had my baby ones extracted. I also have a severe over bite and had treatment for this with a brace. The dentists tried to create a gap big enough to fit bridges in, and move my front teeth off centre to do so. The bridges were inserted, but over time, these are now protruding as my teeth have moved. My dentist will not do any work as they say it is cosmetic. They are so embararssing and people stare. It has affected me a lot. What can I do?

Can you only receive the ‘All on four’ treatment on the bottom jaw?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

Hi there Mr Craig. I am trying to find out about dental implants and the all on four treatment more precisely. I am thinking about getting dental implants and as with anything like this or buying products that are big deals I check out user reviews and such like. anyway I have found that people really like the treatment and that nobody had regretted getting them done. I am going to need full dentures but I have only read about people getting the all on four treatment on the bottom jaw. Is there a reason for this or can I have all on four on both jaws? and finally what are your thoughts on the procedure is it a good one? thank you

Can you help me understand implants when replacing teeth?

April 27th, 2012
Q.

I have been told by my dentist that I am going to need dental implants to replace several of the teeth in my upper mouth. I am okay with this idea but I don’t really understand how this works. From what I’ve read the implant acts as the root of the tooth yes? But then what will be the actual tooth? This is the part I don’t get? Whatever it is will it be included in the price? they are four teeth (all next to each other), whats the best way to replace teeth in that scenario? thanks

How do I work around my dental implants for dentures?

April 20th, 2012
Q.

I have a bit of an issue when needing dentures. It may be- and I hope it is, straight forwards. for the last five years I have had two single tooth implants on my upper jaw. one is my second from back molar on the right and the other is third from back (left, top). however theyre pretty much the only teeth I have left and the surrounding teeth are due to be removed shortly. would you suggest mayb having a partial to surround the implants or would you sy having them removed (if possible) would be a better idea? the thing is i have had a brainwave and I might be as I usually am, way off the mark but I was wondering if the implants used to hold the crowns could be used to hold the dentures? they are pretty much opposite each other on the jaw and are already in place, if this was possible it would save me a lot of money having to have a new set of implants inserted to retain the dentures? what are your thoughts? thank you
